11 Philippine Delegates to the 2008 Olympics

I am really saddened by the fact that the Philippines only sent 11 delegates to the biggest sports extravaganza held only every four years.

Tell us what you think. Are we really sending the cream of the crop? Or is it that politics is so intertwined in our system that it affects even our athletes?

I wonder what the budget of the Philippine Olympic Committee is. How much do they support the individual athelets in terms of expenses for training? What is the selection criteria? What sports were represented? I guess I'll have to see if I can google information as to who actually qualified in what sports.
